Joules & Joules Burnt Earth Oil Bar is a derivation of our Burnt Earth oil paint. In this process, safe quantities of beeswax and carnauba wax are added to the recipe, keeping the outer membrane solid, and the oil bar creamy inside. Joules & Joules Burnt Earth is an opaque, and highly lightfast neutral earthly brown, with moderate tinting strength and high covering power. The dark brown mass color with reddish undertones makes it ideal for darkening other colors in shadowy areas in naturalistic paintings.
