Joules & Joules Caput Mortuum Oil Bar is a derivation of our Caput Mortuum oil paint. In this process, safe quantities of beeswax and carnauba wax are added to the recipe, keeping the outer membrane solid, and the oil bar creamy inside. Joules & Joules Caput Mortuum is a dark, opaque, and highly lightfast reddish violet color, with moderate tinting strength and high covering power. Commonly known as Mars Violet, it is ideal for shadowy areas in landscape painting.
