Joules & Joules Courbet Green Oil Bar is a derivation of our Courbet Green oil paint. In this process, safe quantities of beeswax and carnauba wax are added to the recipe, keeping the outer membrane solid, and the oil bar creamy inside. Joules & Joules Courbet Green is a dark, deep, semi-opaque, and highly lightfast earthy bluish-green color, with moderate tinting strength and covering power. The name refers to the French painter Gustave Courbet (1819-1877), widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the Realism movement in the 19th century. The color was mainly used by Courbet in seascapes paintings.
