Payne’s Gray
Joules & Joules Payne's Gray is a dark, deep, opaque, and highly lightfast bluish-black color, with moderate tinting strength and high covering power. It is a historic color mixture created by the watercolorist William Payne (1780-1830) in the late 18th century. It originally consisted of a mixture of Prussian Blue, Yellow Ochre, and Carmine.
