Joules & Joules Permanent Carmine Oil Bar is a derivation of our Permanent Carmine oil paint. In this process, safe quantities of beeswax and carnauba wax are added to the recipe, keeping the outer membrane solid, and the oil bar creamy inside. Joules & Joules Permanent Carmine is an intense, transparent, and lightfast bluish-red, with moderate tinting strength and covering power. This is the modern version of the historical color Carmine, which was originally produced from thousands of crushed insects from the Cochineal and Kermes species.
