Oil Bars: Single-Pigment Colors – Synthetic Pigments
Ultramarine Blue Oil Bar
Joules & Joules Ultramarine Blue Oil Bar is a derivation of our Ultramarine Blue oil paint. In this process, safe quantities of beeswax and carnauba wax are added to the recipe, keeping the outer membrane solid, and the oil bar creamy inside. Joules & Joules Ultramarine Blue is a warm, transparent, and highly lightfast energetic deep blue, with moderate tinting strength and low covering power. With its characteristic purplish undertones, this color captivated and was popularized by Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters in the 20th century. This is the synthetic version of Lapis Lazuli.
